From Destruction To Restoration: Healing Our Reefs
This day was about more than just diving; it was about giving our oceans a second chance. We hosted a group of dedicated students from China for a hands-on Coral Restoration workshop as part of our ongoing Stop Fish Bombing initiative.
Fish bombing doesn’t just kill fish—it shatters entire ecosystems that take decades to grow. By teaching the next generation how to rescue and replant damaged coral fragments, we are turning the tide against destructive fishing methods.
Watching these students carefully secure coral "nubbins" to restoration frames was a powerful reminder: Awareness is the first step, but action is what saves the reef.
What we did today:
Education: Shared the devastating impact of blast fishing on local marine life.
Rescue: Collected coral fragments damaged by environmental stressors and human activity.
Restore: Secured fragments to metal frames (as seen in the photos!) to be placed back into the ocean to create new, healthy nurseries.
A huge thank you to these young ocean ambassadors for their hard work and passion. The future of our blue planet looks a little brighter today!
